P.W.S.D #1 of Greene County will be implementing a water rate adjustment on July 1, 2019.  This change is to help balance the budget and better our ability to continue to maintain and make improvements to the water system.  The revenue generated from this decision will go to projects like the new wellhouse and tower improvements.  We would also like to continue to update and improve our infrastructure to ensure delivery of the safest and highest quality of water.  We can do this simply by dropping our minimum usage from 3500 gallons to 2000 gallons.  We will not be raising the price of water at this time only changing the structure of our billing system on July 1, 2019.  We hope to continue to provide a high-quality product and very thankful for your support as our customers.

To all water customers with sprinkler systems:

It is the time of year for Backflow Prevention Assembly Test Reports to be turned in.  The due date this year will be Tuesday, June 4, 2019.  For those who are new to our community, the test is required annually.  This is a requirement of the Department of Natural Resources for us to collect a report from everyone who has a sprinkler system.  The test is to be sure your backflow is operating properly.

Please make sure you have contacted a certified inspector to have this done and be sure to follow through to see that PWSD #1 actually received that test from before the due date.  If test isn't in our office by the due date, your water will be disconnected.  If it comes to disconnection, there will be a $30.00 fee to restore water.  This is a very serious matter for our water system and your safety as a customer in our water district.

We appreciate your coopertion in this matter.  Please call our office (417-881-1762) to answer any questions you may have.
